Although 2015 is only the third year for the Knoxville Film Festival, its history dates back more than a decade.  Originally the Secret City Film Festival, Executive Director, Keith McDaniel, joined forces with Dogwood Arts in 2013 to create the largest and most complete film festival in the region.  Held at Knoxville’s arthouse theater, Regal Downtown West Cinema 8, the Knoxville Film Festival has become the region’s destination for independent cinema.  In 2014, the Knoxville Film Festival had more than 2,800 in attendance, screened 77 independent films, held special events and workshops, and hosted the 7-Day Shootout and student filmmaking competitions.

From the opening night to the closing awards ceremony and wrap party, the Knoxville Film Festival is an exciting weekend filled with great independent films for filmmakers and film lovers, alike, networking opportunities, and fun-filled social activities.
